Everyone knows that a washing machine, like any device, has its own service life. But, in most cases, the washing machine fails without having served its intended life, at least the one indicated in its technical data sheet. The reason for this could be anything: local water, careless attitude, intensive use - which led to premature depletion of the life of its parts, or a simple power surge... Today I want to give some tips that will help extend the life of your washing machine.

Simple steps that will significantly extend the life of your washing machine
Let's start with perhaps the most common breakdown. Many owners of washing machines are more likely to encounter other breakdowns such as when the machine stops squeezing out dirty water. A certain washing cycle goes through and, as soon as it comes to draining the dirty water; the machine stops. This is due to the pump responsible for pumping out dirty water.The failure of this small pump pump is the most common failure in any washing machine. It is more susceptible to wear and further failure than other parts of the machine. This is what it looks like:
It won’t be difficult to purchase a new water pump (at any home appliance workshop) and replace it yourself. It is held in the washing machine by three Phillips screws.
All household washing machines have the same ones. The phase and minus contacts on it (when connected) do not matter - it will still only spin in one direction. It's impossible to make a mistake. I have already changed the pump pump on my washing machine in this way twice, during its 14-year (and so far serviceable!) service life. So, in order to avoid the breakdown described above, it is necessary to change the pump at least once every five years, without waiting until the whole machine stops working.
The second problem is scale. Calgon and other advertised remedies do not help with this. All these products help only those who produce, advertise and sell them... Get rich! And in order to remove scale from the heating element and drum of the washing machine, a twenty-gram package of citric acid, which can be purchased at any store, is enough. It is both inexpensive and effective. You just need to pour granulated citric acid into the powder compartment (one package) and run the machine once in a single wash (without laundry) at a temperature of 60-90 degrees Celsius.
You can repeat this procedure once every two months.
And, of course, don’t forget about regular care. Do not close the washing machine door completely, leaving a small space for ventilation.
After each wash, take the time to inspect and wipe the rubber cuff around the door - debris, buttons and coins can accumulate there.
It is also sometimes necessary to check the filter that is installed on the water supply to the machine - there is a fine mesh there, which from time to time becomes clogged with small particles of sand.
You also need to check the drain hose to see if it is clogged with anything. To do this, you can simply, after placing a clean cloth folded in several layers on its outlet, blow into it. If it turns out to be clogged with something, remove it, and using a wire with a rag wrapped around its end, carefully clean the hose. And most importantly, do not forget to check the drain filter after each wash. Anything can be there! Everything you forgot to take out of your pockets before washing. It is necessary to remove all these little things from the drain filter so that they do not damage the pump blades during the next wash. This drain filter is located at the bottom of the machine and has a small door. Open the door and unscrew the filter cover by hand.
By unscrewing the filter cover, the remaining dirty water will pour out of the small sump inside, and after that you can remove everything that is there: buttons, coins, etc.... And, of course, do not forget to disconnect the washing machine from the power supply after washing .
