The oven is always closed, so cleaning it is often neglected, postponing such concerns for later. Ultimately, it may turn out that the accumulated dried carbon deposits are no longer so easy to wash off. In such a situation, you can act in different ways. Many people will start scrubbing the oven for hours with carbon-corroding detergents. Others will use stiff brushes to speed up the process, at the risk of leaving scratches. There is a third very simple and easy method that will definitely not harm the oven coating.
Required inventory
To clean the oven you will need:
- baking soda;
- vinegar;
- water;
- heat-resistant plate;
- sponge;
- paper towels.
Oven cleaning process
First, half a glass of soda is poured into a deep plate.
Then add the same volume of water and a quarter glass of vinegar.
Exact adherence to the proportion is not critical, the main thing is that there is no less than the specified volume of vinegar and soda.
A chemical reaction will begin in the saucer, resulting in the release of carbon dioxide. To prevent it from becoming too active, it is better not to stir the contents.You need to soak a sponge in the solution and spread it over the most burnt areas in the oven.
There is no point in wetting the vertical surfaces of the oven, since the solution will immediately flow down. After treating all the horizontal spots, you need to put the plate with the remaining mixture in the oven.
Now the fun begins. You need to set the temperature on the thermostat to 100 degrees and turn on the heating for 45 minutes. It is worth running the hood as there is a slight smell of vinegar.
After heating is complete, you can wipe off any soggy stains using a sponge and paper napkins.
They come out best while the oven is hot, but you should still wait a little to avoid getting burned. While the inner surface is cooling, you can clean the door glass, which is safer.
This method works ideally on ovens that support the steam self-cleaning function. On ordinary ovens, it is worth increasing the heating time and accordingly using more solution. If you use paper towels to remove softened carbon deposits, the process will go faster, and the liquid dirt will be soaked out more thoroughly. The paper will absorb everything without streaks, so there is no need to finish wiping the surfaces with fat-dissolving agents.
