Converting a soldering iron into a hair dryer
From the soldering iron you need to remove parts that are unnecessary for the hair dryer. First, the handle is dismantled to remove the internal rod, which, other than supporting the power cable, does not perform any important function.
You will also need to remove the sting. Removed parts are not thrown away. You can put them back in the future if you need a soldering iron.
The tool handle is installed back. It is important that it functions as a tube, so if the handle is plugged or has a very small hole, then its edge will have to be sawed off.
The power cable coming out of the handle is bent and wrapped with tape or very sticky electrical tape. A blower from the fan cochlea is applied to the end of the tube. It is also wrapped with tape.
This type of fastening is quite sufficient, since there will be no mechanical load on the fan. You need to tightly wrap the joint with the soldering iron with tape so that all the air from the fan exits clearly into the tube.
If, when disassembling the soldering iron, you had to cut off part of the wire with the plug, now you can twist it back, or better yet, solder it. The connection is reliably insulated. To prevent the wires from the volute and the soldering iron coil from dangling, they can be tied to one of the eyes on the fan.
There are ventilation holes on the body of the soldering iron just in front of the handle. They are not needed for a hairdryer. To close them, just wrap a strip of foil and tighten it with wire.
For the soldering gun to work, you need to plug it into a power outlet and also connect the fan to a 12V power source. The volute will blow air through the heating coil housing, producing more than enough heat to melt the solder.
A homemade device is not as easy to use as a factory soldering iron, but it is free, provided you have a snail. It can be re-equipped with a blade at any time, even without dismantling the fan. The main thing is not to forget to remove the foil on the ventilation holes. For amateur soldering of circuit boards, such equipment is quite sufficient.
