Making a curtain: step-by-step instructions
The length and diameter of the hose are selected taking into account the convenience of connecting the compressor.
For safety, holes in the walls of the air duct are created using pliers, holding a needle in them. In addition to reliable fixation, this solution allows you to set the optimal depth of needle insertion.
Bend one end of the hose (2-3 cm). Fix the position to ensure tightness.Choose a thick enough insulated wire that will not damage the hose.
Polymer twine is used to fasten the prepared structural components with a connection spacing of 20-25 cm. Use appropriate amounts of force so as not to pinch the hose.
Connect the air curtain to the compressor outlet hose. The mutual overlap of the elements at the junction is from 1.5 to 2 cm. For reliability, additional reinforcement with twine is used.
Lower the curtain into the aquarium. To maintain good aesthetic characteristics, they are placed behind a decorative barrier of stones and plants. The hose is not immersed in sand to ensure free release of air bubbles.
At the final stage, the functionality is checked in the normal and maximum performance modes of the compressor unit.
Additional recommendations
All structural elements placed in the aquarium should not deteriorate the habitat of the fish. Should be excluded:
- too bright colors;
- possibility of contamination by impurities;
- deterioration of the organoleptic parameters of the liquid.
To extend the service life of the air atomization device, the curtain components are selected from chemically neutral materials that are not damaged by prolonged contact with water.
