Adapter manufacturing process
It is necessary to attach a small door hinge from the bottom to the protective casing of the angle grinder. To do this, one hole is made in the hinge and casing.
They are then screwed together with a screw and nut. It is important to try on the diamond blade immediately so that it does not rub against the screw head. The hole on the casing of the angle grinder will not affect its operation in the future, so it can be drilled without fear.
The elbow is screwed to the second part of the loop using 2 metal screws. They hold up well in plastic. The elbow is positioned with a socket with a rubber seal towards the power button of the grinder. The knee and loop are fastened opposite the line where its bend begins.
Next, you need to start the grinder and press your knee against the cutting disc so that it selects a groove for itself. Now, when cutting mineral materials, all the dust will fly directly into the knee, without being sprayed to the sides. This adapter works best with a segmented diamond blade (with slots). An ordinary solid disk may cause a slight scattering of dust to the sides.
Then you need to attach a vacuum cleaner to the knee. To do this, a rubber reduction is inserted into its socket. The inner diameter of the adapter is selected to match the thickness of the vacuum cleaner pipe.
Such an adapter works as effectively as specialized expensive casings, but it costs a penny. Since the elbow is fastened with one screw, it can be moved if necessary, and not removed when it gets in the way when making a deep cut.
This tool is ideal for a 125 mm grinder. For a more massive tool, the design needs to be improved so as not to support the knee and hold the angle grinder with both hands. It is advisable to connect a vacuum cleaner to the angle grinder via a cyclone to extend its service life.
