The process of manufacturing and installing turntables
On the central part of the plastic bottle, markings are made for the blades.
You need to break it into 5 blades. The width of each of them is approximately 4 cm, the space between the blades is about 3 cm. The actual dimensions depend on the diameter of the particular bottle. It is important that the blades are identical and placed symmetrically. In this case, they will rotate even with light gusts of wind.
Using a stationery knife, you need to cut out each blade on three sides. The cut is made along transverse marks and one longitudinal one. The blades then bend outward at right angles. You also need to drill the bottom of the bottle in the center. The diameter of the hole should be slightly larger than the thickness of the twigs or wire prepared for installing the turntables.
Then foil is glued to the blades. The safest way to do this is with double-sided tape; it will prevent it from falling off even after months in the rain. You can glue it with superglue. Also for this purpose, instead of food foil, cuttings of a heat-reflecting self-adhesive screen for heating radiators are suitable.
To attach the turntable, a twig or wire is inserted into the hole in the bottom. Its end from the inside of the bottle rests on the cap. In the lid itself you need to make a small recess with a drill. The axis should rest against it, due to this it will always be in the center. When there is a gust of wind, the turntable rotates, and the foil on the blades creates glare. All this together scares away the birds.
You need to make several of these turbines and place them throughout the vineyard. The pins from the pinwheels are tied to the grape trellis from above so that the vine does not cover them as it grows.
The same turbines can be installed on a strawberry plantation, tied above the crown of cherries, cherries, and peaches. It takes no more than 10 minutes to make one pinwheel, so if you spend 1 hour you can make enough of them to place them all over the site. Also, such scarecrows can be used to combat sparrows chirping in the morning near open windows.
