Frame pools and garden ponds must be drained before winter to maintain the integrity of the film, and this also has to be done periodically when replacing dirty or blooming water. If the farm does not have a pump, this can be done by gravity through large-diameter sewer pipes.
What you will need:
- sewer pipe 50 or 110 mm;
- elbow for pipe diameter;
- pipe plug;
- scotch.
The process of quickly draining water without a pump
You need to assemble an L-shaped drain from a pipe and an elbow. Its submersible part should reach from the side of the pool or pond to the bottom of the bowl. The second edge is made longer.
The end length of the side is sealed with tape. The short edge is placed over the pool and filled with water. Once the pipe is full, you need to cover it with a plug.
The short edge is lowered into the water, the plug is removed, and it is placed with a fence closer to the bottom.
After this, you need to cut the tape at the second end. Water will gush in a powerful stream, especially if a 110 mm pipe was used.
This way you can drain almost everything, leaving only 5-10 cm level at the bottom.When pumping, you need to make sure that air is not sucked into the pipe through the funnel formed, as the flow will stop. It is enough to throw a plug or a piece of board onto the funnel, it will float and block any possible suction.
