The most guaranteed and fastest way to propagate roses is to form air layering. It's quick and not difficult, but there are some subtleties that will help make the roots more powerful.
What you will need:
- sharp knife;
- cocktail straw;
- plastic bag;
- nylon ties;
- nutritious soil.
The process of forming an air layer
Air layering can be formed from early spring to autumn. On the selected branch you need to make a cut halfway with a knife.
Then from the incision it is divided along the top by 2-3 cm.
2 short pieces of cocktail tube are inserted into the crevice. If the branch is long, then several such notches can be made on it in increments of 30-40 cm.
Next, take a cut plastic bag. A handful of wet nutrient soil is placed on it.
Then you need to attach this lump to the crevice with the tubes so that the soil sticks to it on all sides. The edges of the bag are wrapped around and everything is secured with zip ties at the top and bottom.
After a month, you will be able to see the roots through the transparent polyethylene.
The branch is cut below the clump. Then the package is removed, and the seedling is ready for planting in open ground.
From one branch you can get 1-4 cuttings, which, thanks to the root, can begin to fully bloom in 1-2 years.
