To install wire clamps, it is convenient to use a clamp. This device allows them to be tightened securely, which is important, for example, if you need to connect a high-pressure hose to a fitting. Making a clamp is very simple, it takes literally 10-15 minutes.
Materials:
- steel strip (faucet handle);
- bolt M10-M12.
Clamp manufacturing process
It is necessary to cut a piece 6-7 cm long from the strip. With an offset under one edge, a hole for the bolt is visible in it.
Its second end must be cut at an acute angle and a shallow groove made for the wire on the tip. It is best to cut it with the edge of a triangular file.
The bolt is cut in half lengthwise. The width of the resulting slot should be sufficient to allow the wire to fit into it.
Any wrench can be used for tightening.
To make a clamp, you need to wrap 2 full turns of wire around the hose.
Then the ring is removed, an indent of 2 fingers is made from it, and a couple more turns are screwed onto the hose.
The workpiece is removed and bent in half to fold the rings in half. Here it is important to bend the wire without an acute angle. Next, the clamp is pulled onto the hose.
The wire tails are inserted into the slot of the bolt inserted into the clamp.
The groove on the tip should rest against the loop between the rings. Then the bolt head is screwed on with a wrench. As a result, the clamp will compress the hose. To fix it, you need to move the back of the clamp away from the loop at a right angle so that the tails bend.
Then the tool is removed, and the excess wire is bitten off.
