How to make a simple and durable bench for home use

Anyone can make a durable bench with their own hands. This person, of course, must be a man. Not a simple one, but one who knows how to hold a hammer in his hands, knows the secrets of electric arc welding, is not afraid of plumbing work and is familiar with paints. So, we will describe this process for you in several stages.

Stage 1

First of all, you need to clearly know where the bench will be located, choose the parameters or just a convenient size option for you. Estimate a diagram or drawing of the future product. An important point for you will be to carry out calculations: length, width, height. The frame will be made of profile steel pipe. It is necessary to calculate the number of component parts, the total length of the profile pipe in linear meters, and other materials (electrodes, construction lath 40x40, fasteners, PF-115 paint if desired). Having prepared and cut the material into blanks, you can begin welding the frame.

Stage: tools

To bring your plan to life, you must have a tool. You need to have: a welding machine, an angle grinder, a corded screwdriver, plumbing tools and all consumables.

Assembly stage

On a flat surface, weld individual parts of the body. Then you weld the parts together and get the frame of the bench. You can use ANO-21 electrodes with a diameter of 3 mm and a current of 100 A for a metal thickness of 2-2.5 mm. For the metal frame of the bench, prepare the dimensions of wooden construction slats 40x40. Using a corded screwdriver, you drill holes in wood and metal frames. At the same time, securing the slats to the base with furniture screws with a semicircular head and nuts. The assembled structure is your bench. All that remains is to paint it in the color of your choice and let it dry. A bench is a masterpiece made by you personally for home use.
