Do you want a reliable WiFi signal throughout your apartment? Then here are 5 simple tips for you.

The WiFi signal has a very short wavelength (about 12 cm), as a result of which it is well absorbed by all visible obstacles such as walls and doors. Reinforced concrete walls are the most difficult to pass. As a result, WiFi cannot travel long distances.
The signal can also be disrupted by various interference from household devices. Therefore, placing the router correctly in the house is extremely important.
Here are 5 recommendations that, if implemented, will provide excellent WiFi throughout your entire apartment.

1. Place the WiFi router in the center of your home

Try to place the WiFi router in the center of the apartment. If this is not possible, then choose a place as close to the center as possible.

2. Do not place the router in closed rooms

3.Don't place the WiFi router on the floor

The WiFi signal always tends to the bottom, so by placing the router on the floor you reduce the possibility of signal propagation in the receiving plane of your devices.
Place the router either in the middle, between the floor and ceiling, or slightly higher.

4. Do not install the WiFi router near other electronics

TVs, computers and other electronics interfere with the WiFi signal, so try not to place the router near them.

5. For multi-antenna routers, change the direction of the antennas

Do you want a reliable WiFi signal throughout your apartment? Then here are 5 simple tips for you.

If you have a multi-antenna router model, then place one antenna perpendicular to the other. This will make it possible to emit a signal in another plane. After all, antennas in laptops and phones are not always in the same plane as the router, but rather the opposite.

Other reasons for a bad WiFi signal

If all the recommendations are followed, and the signal is still not stable, then other residents of the apartment building may be interfering with you.

I especially liked point 3 “WiFi signal always tends to the bottom”

Well, yes, you haven’t heard about the wave flowing onto the cable... Trying to make fun of a person, you turned out to be even stupider

It is logical to place the router higher, because the lighting is also not placed on the floor - there are fewer obstacles. But in apartment buildings the main problem is congestion of channels. I can catch up to 30 stations with my standard antenna. Because: stationary points - only via cable. This is better for yourself and for your neighbors. You can reduce the Wi-Fi power if the router is in the same room as the device (but this will not give you any advantages, but rather the opposite). In general, Wi-Fi is an evil that we have to put up with, but it is advisable to replace it with something.

To: Well. I heard about SWR and measured it. I understand the dependence of the antenna radiation pattern on the ground level. There is no talk about wave flow onto the cable. If I was wrong, I apologize. I would like to read information about wave flow and its connection with the placement of the antenna in the house.
    Best regards, Dmitry.

Wave flow into cables is a known problem; moisture and electricity are old enemies. Yes, it’s understandable why the WiFi signal tends to the bottom - after all, it spreads using waves, and they are heavier than air - so they fall down. And at the bottom there is also a cable into which you definitely need to flow.In general, there is nothing to do here without blue (necessarily blue!) electrical tape.
