How to make a clamp from an old water tap

To knit neat and reliable wire clamps, you need a special clamp tool. It can be made from a non-working water tap. This is an easy-to-make homemade product that will serve you well for many years.

Materials:

  • valve tap;
  • sheet steel 3-4 mm.

Clamp manufacturing process

You need to unscrew the stem from the old valve tap, cut it straight, and make a longitudinal cut on it. The width of the latter should be sufficient to insert wire for knitting clamps.

From the tap tee, it is necessary to cut off the threaded part into which the stem is screwed. The resulting nut is screwed onto it. Then the rod is cleaned.

To use the clamp, you need to fold the wire in half. It wraps around the hose, then its edge is wound into a loop.The machined top of the tool rests against it. Then the ends of the wire are inserted into the slot on the rod. By turning the valve, you can tighten it. Now all that remains is to tilt the tool to bend the wiring behind the loop and cut off the excess.
