Regular mushrooms that we buy in the supermarket can be grown at home on a straw substrate. Many people are interested in this technology, but are still stopped by the lack of mycelium. In fact, you can harvest mushrooms by simply planting roots from purchased oyster mushrooms. Let's take a closer look at the technology.

What you will need:

  • plastic transparent bags;
  • oyster mushrooms from the store;
  • straw.

The process of growing oyster mushrooms without mycelium

First, prepare the substrate. To do this, you need to place the straw in water, bring it to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. The straw is removed and cooled to room temperature.

Some of the straw should be placed on the bottom of a transparent plastic bag. Inedible mushroom stems are placed on it under the walls.

Then they are sprinkled with straw, and the oyster mushroom roots are laid out again. So, alternating tiers, it is necessary to fill the entire bag, compressing the substrate well in it. Then it is tied.

Opposite the roots you need to make horizontal cuts 5 cm long. You also need to make a drainage hole at the bottom to drain excess moisture.The bag is placed in a warm place with a temperature of 22-25°C for 20 days, until shoots are visible through the polyethylene. Light is not needed in this room.

After the mycelium stigmas begin to form, you need to move the bags to a cool room with a temperature of 12-18°C and a humidity of 80-85%. These are optimal conditions for fruiting.

The room must be ventilated twice a day. At this stage, the mushrooms already need light. A window is enough. If the cultivation takes place in the cellar, then the illumination is carried out with a regular light bulb for 8 hours.

After 10 days in a cool room, the mushrooms are cut off.

You can get 3 waves of harvest from one bag, after which it will be very meager.

The first harvest is the richest; you can cut at least 2 kg of mushrooms from a bag.
