To make it easier to keep chickens, you can use hopper feeders, into which feed is poured in large volumes, and then evenly fed to the birds as they eat. The feeder ensures that every grain will be eaten, and not spilled under your feet and trampled into the dirt. In addition, it needs to be filled out once every couple of days or even weeks.

Materials:

  • Plastic food transparent container with lid 60 l;
  • plastic elbows of the drainage system 82 mm – 6 pcs.;
  • silicone sealant.

Feeder manufacturing process

You need to drill holes in the walls of the container using a wood crown to match the diameters of the corners. The elbows must be inserted so that their bottom rises 10 mm above the bottom of the tray.

The corners are leveled and glued with silicone sealant.

After it dries, the feeder is placed in the chicken coop and filled with feed. Chickens will be able to peck at them by sticking their heads inside through the corners.

As a result, feed losses are eliminated. Due to the large volume of the container, it can be filled once every couple of weeks if the poultry population is small. At the same time, the fullness of the bunker can be seen through the transparent walls.Due to the fact that the bottom of the corners rises 10 mm above the bottom, the food is poured in on its own, so there is no need to shake anything.
