Focused rays of the sun can heat surfaces to enormous temperatures. You can take advantage of this property and make a solar oven that allows you to quickly heat up food and even cook it. It is not difficult to make such a system.
Materials:
- Aluminum soda or beer cans;
- dish from a satellite TV antenna;
- shoe glue;
- profile pipe or corner;
- reinforcement 5-8 mm;
- furniture wheels – 4 pcs.;
- grill from a refrigerator, gas stove or grill.
Solar oven manufacturing process
A stove of this design will be a mirror parabolic reflector, allowing sunlight to be focused at one point. To make it, you will need to cover the satellite TV antenna dish with reflective material.
As the latter, it is optimal to use aluminum soda or beer cans.

The inside is matte, so you need to remove the paint from the mirrored outside.To do this, the blanks are boiled in water for several hours to weaken the enamel, after which it will be erased with ordinary paint solvent.
The resulting mirror sheets must be cut into squares of 50x50 mm.
They are then glued to the inside of the plate with shoe glue. It is better to use it, as it can withstand increased temperatures. Although the plate itself will not heat up, but just in case.
You need to weld a frame for a plate from a profile pipe or corner. If you don’t have a welding machine, the stand can be made from a wooden block. To install the plate, you need to drill it in two places and bolt it to the frame. As a result, they will also serve as an axis for adjusting the angle of inclination.
Next, you need to determine the distance from the reflector at which the rays reflected from it are collected into one beam. Based on the measurement obtained, a bracket is bent from the reinforcement, which will serve as a stand for placing heating objects. The bracket can be pressed to the frame with the same bolts that hold the reflector.
A grid is screwed onto the bracket with wire, which will serve as a shelf.
From the bottom of the frame, for ease of adjusting the reflector relative to the sun, you need to screw on the rotating furniture wheels.
To use a solar oven, you need to point the reflector at the sun.
After this, an object to be heated is placed on the grid shelf. This could be a dark dish, pot or frying pan.
On a sunny day, the stove can boil 0.5-1 liters of water in 10 minutes. That is, you can cook on it like on a regular stove.
