Many people cannot imagine outdoor recreation without barbecue or barbecue. When preparing them, purchased compact barbecues are very helpful. Unfortunately, they are made of very thin sheet steel, so they quickly burn out and become unusable within a couple of seasons. It is much more practical to make a barbecue with your own hands from a freon cylinder. It turns out to be much more durable than store-bought.

Materials:

  • Freon cylinder 12-15 l;
  • welded door hinges - 2 pcs.;
  • reinforcement 12 mm;
  • pipe 32 mm;
  • refrigerator or oven rack;
  • heat-resistant paint.

The process of making a barbecue from a freon cylinder

The remaining refrigerant must be drained from the cylinder. Using a thread, you need to tie it lengthwise to divide it into 2 equal halves. Markings are applied along the lace to cut the cylinder in half. Using a grinder, cut off the handles of the cylinder.

Next, you need to cut its walls according to the markings, but without cutting the bottom and top. You don't have to unscrew the faucet, but rather cut it down.

While the halves of the cylinder are held, you need to weld 2 door hinges on them. This way they will definitely be positioned evenly.

Then you can cut it along the marks and clean the cuts from burrs. The result is a barbecue blank with an opening lid. Next you need to strip off all the paint.

Previously cut handles are welded to the halves.

4 pointed legs made of reinforcement are welded to the grill.

A hole is drilled in the lid, offset to the edge, and a smoke exhaust tube is welded in.

A grate is cut to fit the size of the barbecue. It can be taken from an old refrigerator or oven.

The top needs to be painted with heat-resistant paint.

Thanks to its sharp legs, the grill is pressed into the ground when installed, which gives it complete stability. You can light both coals and wood in it.

It can be used with skewers or with a grill.

The result is a lightweight, compact design that fits easily into the trunk of any car.
