It often happens that you watch TV in a dimly lit room. Take the control panel and want to change the channel. Almost by touch, press the button and, naturally, it’s not the one you need. To prevent this from happening, you can very simply backlight any remote control.

Also, such illumination can be provided to any remote control, say, for an air conditioner, etc.

Making the TV remote control buttons backlit

Carefully disassemble the remote control. Usually the roofs are held on by latches, but sometimes a self-tapping screw may be hidden under the batteries, which must first be unscrewed.

Let's take the smallest one Light-emitting diode. Cut a piece of heat shrink tubing and put it on Light-emitting diode and blow it with a hot air gun.

Drill 2 holes (4 in the photo, since 2 were made by mistake) with a thin drill for the output LED.

Let's install Light-emitting diode and use thin pliers or tweezers to bend it towards the channel switching buttons.

Solder the power wires to the bottom.

In the lower part of the remote control, free from buttons, we will drill and weld it under the clock button.

Let's install this button. Solder the wires and secure with hot glue.

We solder the drive to the terminals from the battery compartment.

Let's close the remote control. Let's install the batteries.

The backlight is ready.

Agree that finding a lonely backlight button in the dark is no more difficult than finding the button for the desired channel or, say, volume down.

After turning on the backlight, everything becomes clear in full view.

You can use fluorescent tape (sold on Ali) to mark important areas. You can't miss in the dark. If you then heat-shrink the remote control, this design will last (almost) forever.

If your Dremel breaks, it doesn’t matter: a grinder can replace it
