When working in a home or workshop, you sometimes have to solve problems for which there simply is no special tool. In this case, you need to manage to get out of the situation. Let's look at 4 everyday situations and how they can be solved.

1. Plastic pipe socket wrench

If you have to screw nuts onto long studs, you won’t be able to do this with a regular socket. Take a piece of plastic pipe and place it on a nut or bolt head heated with a torch.

The hot metal will melt the plastic, forming a hexagon.

All that remains is to grind the melted end of the tube.

A hole is drilled at its reverse end to insert a handle. That's it, the tool is ready to use.

2. Camping stand for a frying pan for a fire

To be able to place the frying pan levelly over the fire while camping, you can make a stand. To do this, you need to weld a flag made from a strip 30-40 mm wide to a section of a 15x15 mm profile pipe 40 cm long. It is desirable to have a cutout for the tube to increase the welding area. You need to weld 7-10 cm from the edge.

A hole is drilled in the pipe, above the welded strip to the height of the walls of the frying pan. A thread is cut into it and an M8 bolt is screwed in.

Now, after lighting the fire, the stand can be inserted into the ground nearby and a frying pan can be placed on it.

It will be held securely and heat up quickly due to direct contact with the flame.

3. Homemade key for round nuts

If you need to unscrew a nut without edges, you can make a wrench for this. A ring 20-30 mm wide is cut from a tube whose internal diameter is slightly larger than the nut.

It needs to be sawn lengthwise and a small segment cut out.

Then rod handles are welded along the edges of the sawn ring.

The key is put on the nut, and its handles are compressed. After that they can unscrew it.

4. Durable wire clamp without clamp

To tighten the hose on the fitting, you can use a simple wire clamp. To do this, a long piece of wire is folded in half so as to separate the edges, forming a loop at the bend.

Next, the clamp is installed on the hose close to the loop, after which its edges on the reverse side are twisted together with pliers. Now all you have to do is tighten the loop, and the hose will never break under pressure.
