To connect, say, a toilet cistern, it is not necessary to buy an expensive hose. You can make it yourself absolutely free. The strength of such a homemade hose will be quite enough to last for many decades.

How to make a thin hose from a polypropylene pipe to connect a toilet cistern

We take a 25 mm polypropylene pipe and cut a piece of it about 70 cm in length.

We heat 10 cm in the middle of the pipe evenly with a hair dryer.

Next, clamp one end of the pipe in a vice.

And we begin to smoothly pull the pipe into a thin hose.

It stretches very well. The main thing is not to overheat the section initially with a hairdryer, and let it cool a little before stretching, since the polypropylene should not be too hot.

As soon as the hood is finished, without letting go of the other end, pour cold water on the pipe and wait for it to cool completely for 3-5 minutes.

Then we cut off the elongated segment.

We put on the threaded fitting.

Use a hacksaw to cut the pipe to exactly the right size. You won't be able to cut it this way with scissors, as they will flatten the edge of the hose.

To form a flattened shape at the ends of the hose, we heat a thick sheet of steel with a gas burner.

Next, press the ends of the tube one by one.

Press the fitting nuts tightly onto the flattened ends.

That's all. The flexible hose is ready for use.

Install rubber gaskets.

And screw it to the tank first.

And then to the shut-off valve.

The hose holds pressure perfectly, and in appearance it is indistinguishable from the store-bought one.

A useful life hack, take note and use it!

If water flows through pipes by gravity from a barrel standing on the roof of a 1-2-3-story private house, then it will do. But trying to save money in this way in an ordinary multi-storey building requires a lot of extra money.
