The designs of some bearing pullers are very unreliable. When used, they often slip off, resulting in hand injuries. The proposed puller design completely eliminates this outcome. It has a very simple yet reliable device.

Materials:

  • Pipe 32-50 mm;
  • sheet steel 4-6 mm;
  • M12 pin;
  • nut M12;
  • round timber 20 mm.

Bearing puller manufacturing process

A piece of pipe 10-15 cm long is used as the base of the puller. It needs to be cut along the center by 15-20 mm, and then cut on the side to remove the half ring.

Closer to the opposite edge, the pipe is drilled. After this, you need to cut a longitudinal groove in the workpiece to the hole. It should be located on the side with the half-ring removed.

Using a crown, you need to cut out 2 plugs for the tube from sheet steel. One of them is drilled with a 10-12 mm drill. The second sector is cut out.

A plug with a cut-out sector is welded onto the end of the tube with the half-ring removed. The second one is welded on the other side.

Next, take a piece of stud with a nut attached and insert it into the hole in the puller plug. You need to weld a nut to it.Then the pin is unscrewed and sharpened.

A chamfer is removed from the opposite side of the end of the stud. This is necessary to weld it to a piece of round timber. It is then turned and drilled to make a collar. A rod is inserted into the hole, onto the edges of which limiters made of balls from the bearing are welded.

Such a puller is put on a shaft with a bearing. Then, by tightening the screw, you can remove the last one. This design completely eliminates the possibility of something slipping and injuring your hand. To make the puller more versatile, it is better to initially make it from a large-diameter pipe.
