The manual cultivator-root remover "Tornado" can make the work of a summer resident easier. This cultivator seriously relieves the spine, distributing the load across all muscles. With its help it is much easier to dig up the garden, it will be simply indispensable for removing weeds. You can buy something similar in a store. However, a craftsman can make a more reliable and practically indestructible design with his own hands from an old car spring.

Making a "Tornado" type cultivator with your own hands

We measure out a section of rope or wire 27-30 centimeters. With its help we mark the length of the workpiece; you can make four marks at once.

Using a grinder, we cut off four pieces for the future blade.

Using the same grinder, we sharpen the tip.

We ended up with four fangs, pointed on one side. Small differences in length and sharpening angle will not affect the performance of the entire structure.

We cut a piece of 40-50 mm from the profile pipe. We make through holes on four sides.

Use a conical drill to increase the diameter of the hole. It is necessary that the spring sections fit into it with minimal effort. The result was a square with a hole on four sides. We insert blanks into them.

Using magnetic holders, we set the angle and secure it by welding.

We finally weld the fangs into a single structure. It is advisable to avoid large discrepancies in the angle of inclination.

We make a handle and a handle from a 25 mm steel pipe. Using a magnetic holder, we fix the angle of 90 degrees and weld them into a single structure.

We weld the resulting handle with a handle to the cutting part.

This completes the main work. All that remains for us is to clean up the welding areas and paint. If desired, the handle can be made more comfortable. To do this, just put a rubber or neoprene pad on it.

The result is a cultivator that is in no way inferior to factory models. When it rotates, the fangs bite even into hard soil, making the job easier.

Within a few minutes you can dig up a significant area of hard soil. Unlike purchased models, the homemade Tornado cultivator is more durable and has no weak points. Although this may make it heavier.
