Little tricks when performing carpentry and plumbing work allow you to complete the tasks more accurately and quickly. You can often save a lot of time by using improvised materials that initially, at first glance, are not suitable for a particular case. This allows you not to run to the store to buy every little thing such as a glass drill, a beating cord, or special fasteners. This collection contains 8 ideas that allow you to get out of the situation in non-standard ways.

1. Fast production of wooden rings

A wooden or plywood ring can be obtained using two bits simultaneously installed in a holder. After drilling, remove the ring from the drill and remove the inner insert from it.

Next, we finish the workpiece with sandpaper.

2. Easy installation of steel connecting ring

The jump ring can be attached to any surface using a plate with holes, two nuts and a pair of screws. This method of fixation preserves its mobility.

3. Hidden fastening of the bar

To conceal the bar, you need to drill 4 holes in the washer and insert nails into them.

Then the washer is screwed with a self-tapping screw to the place where the bar is attached.

After this, we place the timber against the nails and nail it on top.

4. Drilling glass with a glass cutter

You can drill the glass using a roller from a glass cutter.

We remove it and string it on a wire. Then we bend it and clamp the edges in the drill chuck. Use the resulting drill to drill glass.

5. DIY chop cord

We take the twine and wind it onto a spool of fumlenta or thread. Then we insert a piece of PP tube into it.

Next, take a small glass jar with a Euro-lid and drill a hole in the latter for the tube. We also drill the side of the jar with a glass drill.

We pass the twine from the inside of the jar into the hole. We place the coil itself in a jar and close it with a lid.

After this, you need to solder a coupling or pipe of a larger diameter to the end of the tube above the lid to stop the coil. Now we cut off the excess and pour colored chalk inside.

That's it, the chop cord is ready.

6. Driven furniture nut from pipe

To make a driving nut, we select a tube of such internal diameter that the required bolt can be screwed into it. We take a piece of it and weld a washer to the edge.

The thread is cut into the tube using a tap. Then 4 cuts are made on the washer, after which the resulting teeth are bent at a right angle. The result is a driven furniture nut.

7. Magnetic hand tool holder

To make the holder you will need a piece of mounting profile for drywall. Magnets are placed in it along its entire length. After that, it is screwed to the wall with self-tapping screws. Now you can install screwdrivers, chisels and other steel hand tools on the holder.

8. A simple device for drawing arcs

To draw a neat, smooth arc, you will need a regular metal ruler. We bend it to the required radius, and then fix the edges with tape or tape. After that you can draw on it.
