The professionalism of a master depends not only on the level of skills when performing certain actions, but also on the ability to creatively resolve situations when there is no suitable tool or equipment. Such tricks and secrets have to be used almost daily. Let's look at 6 ideas that are worth using.

1. Step drill made from self-tapping screws

If you need to make a large hole, it is easy to make a drill for this yourself. 4 self-tapping screws are inserted into the clamping nut of the angle grinder.

Then it needs to be screwed onto the adapter from the Velcro platform for grinding wheels. The lower nut of the angle grinder is first placed on it.

Next you need to bring the edges of the screws together and weld them together. This is done very easily if you press them into a narrow hole in the board, and additionally press with wire.

The edges of the screws are sharpened after welding.

Thus, we get a simple analogue of a step drill, and quite a good one at that.

2. How to smooth out a dent from a blow on a tree

If there is a dent on the surface of the wood from an impact, simply wet it and place a wet cloth or cotton wool on top. After 12 hours, the wood will swell and the dent will straighten out.

After sanding, the damage site will not be visible at all.

3. Adjusting the length of the cord with washers

When you need to hang something on a cord and then be able to adjust its length, use washers. The cord is passed through them. Then its end is brought back into the hole of the first washer that was put on.

The drawn edge is stretched with a margin. Then it needs to be tied to the top washer.

Now, if you hang something on the resulting loop, then by tightening the washers you can change the length of the cord. Moreover, he cannot slide on them; to do this, the load must be removed.

5. Upgraded tongue and groove

If you need to make a neat and very reliable tenon and groove connection, then after preparing the workpieces, they can be folded and drilled across. Then a dowel is driven into this hole.

It turns out very durable, especially in combination with glue.

6. How to clean emery cloths

Sandpaper can be very easily cleaned of adhering wood dust using regular glue sticks.

They perfectly clean the pores of the sandpaper, while they themselves hardly wear off.
