When working in a workshop, you often have to use life hacks to solve a particular problem. Many of them are very useful and effective. Let's look at 5 such ideas that you will want to repeat if necessary.

1. Grinder grinder

Horns made of two pieces of strip, each 100 mm long, are welded to a section of a profile pipe 250-300 mm long. Before this, their ends are cut at 45 degrees in order to obtain the same angle between them.

The device is pressed to the table with a clamp or clamped in a vice. Its horns allow you to fix the angle grinder with the casing installed. Thus, the device works as a holder that turns the angle grinder into emery.

2.Bike wall mount

It is necessary to prepare a section of profile pipe 250-300 mm long. Its edge is drilled. This is necessary to screw the hook curved out of the strip. It bends so that it can grip the rim of a bicycle wheel. The hook is attached to the pipe using a bolt.

A piece of strip 100 mm long is welded to the opposite edge of the pipe. It needs to be drilled to attach the bracket to the wall.

The bracket should be screwed in the corner of the garage or storage room to the wall as high as possible. Using the hook on it, you can hang the bike by the wheel. This way it will take up minimal space.

3. Box for cable channel drills

If you have any scraps of cable duct left over, you can use it to make a box for storing small items. To do this, you need to make longitudinal cuts from the edges of the channel gutter at the corners.

Then the side walls are folded at the edges and pressed against the bottom. The edge of the latter is inserted behind the border at the top of the cable channel. Once hooked, it will stay in place without glue or rivets.

All that remains is to cut the lid for the box to the required length, and it is ready for use.

4. Metal scriber made from a self-tapping screw

To make a scriber, you need to screw a self-tapping screw into a wooden handle blank, leaving about 2 cm to the cap. Then it is cut off and the screw is sharpened.

Due to the thread, the self-tapping screw will hold very tightly. In addition, it is tempered, so it is harder than regular metal and scratches it easily.

5. Second life for the petal disk

A damaged flap disc with flying segments can be reworked for further use. To do this you need to remove the remaining petals. It is enough to warm them up with a burner, and while the glue is hot, tear off the segments.

The remaining base without any flying segments can be used for sanding. It will clean metal perfectly even without petals.
