It's a good idea to have a large sanding machine for sharpening and sanding. You can make it from old car parts, and organize the drive from a conventional drill. This is a simple, inexpensive project that anyone can do.

Materials:

Wheel rim;

Machine manufacturing process

To assemble the machine frame you will need a wheel. Legs from a profile pipe are welded to it.

Next, we screw or weld the hub to the disk, securing it in reverse.

Next, we screw the brake disc to it, on which holes are pre-drilled around the circumference.

Now you need to start driving the emery. To do this, a bracket is made from the strip to mount the grinder gearbox. It is welded to the frame leg.

A gearbox from an angle grinder with an installed pulley is screwed to the bracket.This is done through a strip adapter in order to be able to tension the drive belt in the future. Please note that the adapter has a length reserve so that you can later attach a drill to it.

Then the belt itself is put on. On one side it fits onto the pulley, and on the other onto the hub.

Now you need to screw the base for attaching the sandpaper onto the brake disc. This can be aluminum sheet, plywood or other durable sheet material. The fastening screws are screwed into pre-drilled, tapped holes. We hide our hats away. Then we fill the holes with metal filings and saturate them with superglue. This allows you to get a flat plane.

The next step is to make the support table. To do this, two brackets are cut out of the strip and welded on the sides. An adjustable support made of a profile pipe is attached to them.
