In some cases, products and materials unsuitable for their intended purpose can become the basis for making life hacks that are useful in the home and at work. Below are 6 such transformations, some of which you will clearly take note of.

Two in one: a nail puller and a semicircular chisel made from an old bearing

We weld the outer ring of the rolling bearing to the end of the steel strip. Cut out 1/4 of the outer ring from the welding point to the strip.

We sharpen the end of 3/4 of the outer ring into a half-cone.

In the center of the work surface we make a dovetail notch. We weld 1/4 of the outer ring to the other end of the strip, aligning one of its edges with the edge of the plate. At the level of the second edge of the plate, cut off the excess part of the ring. We form a semicircular work surface.

With this tool you can make cuts in wooden blanks and remove nails from them.

How to make a device from a piece of pipe and pliers for winding wire rings and “eights”

We cut a small piece from a thick-walled pipe and make three annular grooves on it.We put a tube with grooves on one of the jaws of the round pliers, and insert the end of the wire under the second closed jaw into the groove of the cylinder.

We wrap the wire around the cylinder along the groove and get rings. By bending the second end of the wire in the same way, we get a “figure eight”, which can be a chain link.

How to securely secure the end of a cable and a rigging shackle using a piece of pipe

In a small piece of round pipe, we drill 3 blind holes from one edge in the longitudinal direction, and on the other side, turning the pipe 90 degrees, 1 through hole. We cut threads in three blind holes.

We fix a straight shackle with a screw-in pin to the pipe using a through hole.

We insert the end of the cable into the pipe on the other side and secure it with three bolts. The fastening reliability is excellent.

How to tightly secure a hose to a pipe using wire, bolt and nuts

We make longitudinal grooves on opposite sides of the bolt to capture the head. Screw 2 nuts onto the bolt with grooves. We wrap the hose placed on the pipe with a wire loop.

We insert the ends of the loop into the slots of the bolt and, lightly tapping its head, ensure that the ends of the wire loop rise above its head. While holding the bolt, place the upper nut against the head, and the lower nut against the hose placed on the pipe. Connection strength and tightness – 100%.

How to Make a Strong Loop at the End of a Cable Using an Extended Nut and Bolt

We drill a blind hole in the center of the elongated nut and cut a thread in it. We insert the end of the cable through the hole in the nut and, having made a loop, return the end back into the nut on the opposite side.

Screw and tighten the bolt in the hole of the extended nut. The strength of the connection is excellent.

How to make wall hinges from wire and a piece of plastic tube

Using a round pipe, we make two identical rings from wire. We cut a small piece from a flexible plastic tube into which we insert the ends of the rings on both sides.

Using a self-tapping screw and a washer, we attach the resulting unit in the center of the plastic tube to the wall. You can hang hangers, tools, or string wires on the rings.
