Even experienced, highly professional welders are finding more and more new opportunities to improve, facilitate and speed up welding work, as well as their use for other purposes. Below are 5 life hacks involving the welding process that will help a novice welder move up the professional ladder faster.

Semicircular movement of the electrode relative to the welding line

Place a part of the power screw on the surface of a wooden beam and trace its thread on one side.

The result is a line, as if made up of semicircles clinging to each other. If you move the end when welding electrode along such a trajectory, you will get a very high-quality weld, somewhat wavy on one side, which does not affect its strength and attractiveness.

Moving the long electrode

Longitudinal movement only electrode not enough to produce a strong and attractive weld. If the long electrode is also moved in a circular transverse direction, symmetrically relative to the line being welded, then the seam is guaranteed to be stronger, wider and aesthetically attractive.

For the convenience of such movement, the end electrode can be held using a copper “crocodile” with slightly straightened grips.

How to perform quality end welding of profile pipes

We press and grab the welded sections of profile pipes to the base, as well as to each other. We apply the flat end of a wooden block to the welding lines, which serves as a guide for electrode.

As a result, the welding seam on all sides is smooth and neat.

Welding spray for welding quality without silicone

Let's apply welding spray to a part of the metal part in the form of a profile square pipe, covering one side of it with construction tape.

The seam on the side where the spray was applied turned out to be of high quality, but on the side without the spray it was of poor quality.

How to use welding equipment to remove a nail from a block of wood

If a nail embedded tightly in a wooden block cannot be pulled out using hand tools (pliers, pliers, pliers), then it is enough to heat it using two nails connected to the positive and negative terminals of the welding machine until smoke comes out from under the embedded nail.

After this procedure, it will jump out of the block almost on its own.
