If for any reason a crack appears in the brickwork, then you should not use construction foam or cover it with any sealants to seal it. Exactly in a year there will be no trace left of such repairs.

How to repair a crack in a brick wall

A more fundamental approach is needed here. We arm ourselves with a hammer drill or at least a chisel (an old but powerful screwdriver will also do) and a hammer. We begin to embroider the masonry along the crack, trying to break and pull out all the old mortar from the seam.

To remove small particles and dust, we will use a regular, maybe used, paint brush.

Next, prepare the required amount of mortar from M500 cement and clean dry sand in a ratio of 1:3 with the addition of a small volume of water. The mixture should turn out only slightly damp, rather even semi-dry.

Using a flat wooden block, for example, a piece of clapboard, we push the resulting solution into the gap and compact it with the end of the piece of wood until the cement-sand mixture completely fills the entire joint in depth and from top to bottom.

Cracks in brickwork are most often the result of errors during the construction of the foundation and they can be completely removed only by correcting all the flaws in the foundation.
