Today we will try to make a mysterious and sacred musical instrument of the indigenous peoples of Australia - the didgeridoo. For those who don’t know, the didgeridoo is best made from eucalyptus. Nature itself, or rather insects termites, helps in the production of this musical instrument. They gnaw out the core of the tree, and all that remains is to find it and remove the sawdust. We didn't have a ready-made eucalyptus trunk or termites. But in any city, you can buy, or at least order via the Internet, bamboo. Another important component in this sacred instrument is the aesthetic side of the material. Bamboo is very pleasant to hold in your hands. In a good way, it can be made from a plastic water pipe. BUT playing such an instrument is unlikely to be enjoyable. So, let's begin.

The indigenous Australian musical instrument is the didgeridoo.

We will need a bamboo stick with a diameter of about five centimeters and a length of one and a half to two meters. Next, we tie a rope (any kind you can find) around each joint. There can be a different number of joints - it depends on the place where the bamboo grew.

The joints should be tied as tightly as possible. And in such a way that you can then tie a knot. Next, move all the branches of the rope to the joint. In this way, we achieve rigidity so that the bamboo does not crack during the manufacturing process of the tool.

After these simple manipulations we get a bamboo stick tied around all joints.

And as can be seen in the previous figure, we are preparing a device for making holes in the joints. We take simple reinforcement with a diameter of about eight to ten millimeters and a size slightly smaller than our workpiece. The fittings need to be sharpened like a screwdriver.

After we have everything prepared, we can take a break and drink tea, and after resting with renewed vigor we can begin the final part of making the mysterious instrument - the didgeridoo.
We take the sharpened reinforcement in one hand, and the bamboo blank in the other, and with confident movements we punch a hole in a circle. Next, we make holes in all the remaining transitions. You need to try to achieve results without nicks inside. This smoothness will provide a smoother and more enjoyable sound when playing.

This completes the making of the bamboo didgeridoo instrument. I wish you a pleasant game and speedy learning of different styles of exhalation. They say it takes several months to several years to learn, depending on your talents.
