Aluminum foil for food is the thinnest flexible sheet of aluminum, the minimum thickness of which reaches 0.001 mm. Food foil is used mainly by many housewives in culinary matters for preparing and storing food. Being a non-toxic material, foil does not impart any foreign odors or tastes to products. In addition, it does not absorb fats and does not allow liquids to pass through. But, like many items, it can also be used for other purposes. This is exactly what our conversation is about today.

Aluminum foil for food

First, a little about ways to use foil in the kitchen, especially for those who are not yet in the know.
Want to bake cupcakes, but don't have any molds in the house? No problem. Fold a sheet of foil (if the foil is thin) into 3-4 layers and form into any shape.
You haven’t acquired a cooking syringe or bag yet, but want to bake a beautiful cake? And in this case, a stored roll of foil will come to your aid.Roll up a sheet of foil into a ball, make a small hole at the end, fill it with cream and you can safely start decorating the cake.

Has the steel wool for cleaning kitchen utensils become unusable? And here foil comes to your aid: crumple a piece of sparkling leaf (you can even use one) into a tight ball and it can easily replace a washcloth for cleaning pans or pots. It is also very easy for such a ball, together with dishwashing detergent, to remove food residues or other dirt from glass objects.

Application of aluminum foil

And a few more tricks for using foil in the kitchen:
• wrap the eggs in foil before sending them to cook - they will not burst during the cooking process;
• if you don’t have a funnel at home, fold a piece of foil in half, then shape it into a cone and cut off the tip;
• if you need to keep sausage, cheese or butter “edible” for as long as possible, wrap them in foil (each product, of course, separately);

Application of aluminum foil

• if you cannot find a bottle cap or stopper in your household, roll a piece of foil into a very tight tube and cover the open container with it;
• if you wrap cooked food in foil, it will remain warm for a long time, which is very important when traveling long distances;
• if the top of the half-baked pie in the oven begins to burn, cover it with a sheet of foil and continue baking;
• if you cook food in foil, it will turn out very juicy, soft and tender, while the food will still retain all its beneficial properties;
• if you do not want to waste energy on washing the surface of the stove, bottom or oven door when frying or baking fatty foods (meat, fish), cover them with foil before starting cooking - your stove and oven will remain clean;
• if you forgot to buy disposable tableware while going on a hike, take a roll of foil with you; you can easily make plates or cups from it.

But in addition to using foil for culinary purposes, there are many more ways (sometimes unusual) of using this industrial product in household matters, which few people know about. Let's fill this gap.

Now about how you can use foil at home
Is your TV bad? Not surprising, since most movie lovers usually have a video player (DVD) next to or under the TV, which often causes interference on the TV screen. A sheet of foil placed between these two devices will help eliminate this inconvenience.

Can't get out old wrinkles in fabric? This is because the ironing board itself absorbs a lot of the heat generated by the iron during the ironing process. Use a simple trick: place a piece of foil under the ironing board cover, a fabric item on top and run over it several times using steam. In this case, the foil will act as a heat reflector, so the wrinkles will smooth out faster and easier.

Is the soleplate of your iron covered in build-up? Run a warm iron over the sheet of foil several times, and your heater will sparkle like new again.

Are your scissors completely dull? Fold a thick sheet of foil into at least 4 layers and use blunt scissors to make several cutting motions.

Application of aluminum foil

Have dark glimpses appeared on your favorite mirror? “Plant” small patches of foil on the back of the mirror, thereby masking problem areas.

Do your TV or DVD remote control, children's toy or flashlight work intermittently? Surely the springs for attaching the batteries have become loose and weakened, which caused poor contact. Insert a folded piece of foil between the battery and the spring.

Application of aluminum foil

Have your Christmas tree decorations become horrifying or you don’t know how to decorate your home for the New Year holidays? Wrap old Christmas tree decorations in foil to give them a fresher look. Decorate the rooms using snowflakes, flowers and bows cut out from it.
Do you freeze in winter, despite hot cast-iron radiators? You can correct the situation by placing a cardboard sheet covered with foil with the less shiny side inward between the radiator and the wall of the apartment. The heat from the battery will be reflected by the foil into the room and not into the wall.
Are you planning to paint your bathroom door or walls, but don't have masking tape on hand? It's no problem either. Wrap protruding objects (faucets, door handles, locks) before starting “fighting”.

Has your silverware become tarnished and unsightly? Do not despair. You can restore the original shine to silver items by following a simple procedure: cover the bottom of a pan or other container with foil, place silver items on it, pour half a liter of cold water and add 60 g of salt. After 4-12 hours of aging in this solution, your silver will sparkle again. The same method will help you when cleaning jewelry if it is without stones. And to prevent dark stains from forming on silver items, store them wrapped in foil.
Here, perhaps, are all the secrets of using foil that we wanted to share with you.All you have to do is remember everything described above or store it in a separate folder on the desktop of your computer.
Good luck and all the best!
