To make poppy seeds from Japanese polymer clay, you will need Claycraft by Deco clay in white, blue and red. White is the base color, and red and blue are pigments that are added to the base white to create the desired colors. You will also need PVA glue, a glue brush, scissors, a toothbrush, stamens, a bowl of water, an egg mold or Kinder surprise boxes, a jar of toilet paper rolled up in the shape of a nest and a napkin. It is better to use napkins from Huggyes, as they have the necessary structure that helps our clay not dry out during the manufacturing process.

For making poppy seeds

First of all, we take out the required amount of clay from the packages, as shown in the Photo and place it on a napkin, after which we cover it with another layer of napkin so that the clay retains moisture.

We take a white base color and actively begin to knead it in our hands, stretch it, as in the Photo.

Clay releases a sticky substance and becomes more pliable and softer. By mixing red and blue, we get lilac, which we will use for the base of the flower itself, after which we add it to the white.

We make a drop on the palm, using pressure with the fingers of the other hand, as in the photo.

With light pressure from the knife, we draw a pattern like a poppy flower.

Use scissors to cut out the corners.

Using pressure with a toothbrush, we squeeze out a textured pattern, which makes our center even more like a real flower.

Mix red clay with white, as in the Photo and divide into 10 parts, 5 of which are slightly larger than the rest.

Having formed a droplet, as in the middle, roll it out on your hand with light pressure from the fingers of the other hand.

We put our flower petals into an egg mold.

Using PVA glue and a brush, glue the stamens to the center. Some of the stamens can be placed a little higher than the rest.

Lubricate the tips of the small petals with glue and glue them to the center.

We glue each next petal on top of the previous one and go half a centimeter onto it. The fifth petal must be placed under the very first.

glue on top

We do the same with the remaining petals, which are larger. Having glued all the petals, we gently press them at the base of the flower, thereby stretching it and giving the poppy its shape.

flower base

We straighten the flower petals, the main thing is to do it very gently so that they do not lose their shape. In order for the flower not to lose its shape while drying, it must be placed in a jar with a so-called “nest”, which is very simple to make, you need to wrap toilet paper around your hand and fasten it.

put in a jar

To dry completely, you must leave the product alone for 24 hours.

After which you can glue it to a hairpin, elastic band, hoop, or create a whole composition of such colors, it all depends on your imagination. Remember, this polymer clay does not like moisture, so it is prohibited to wet the product.
