To make a “knitted ball” you will need:
- Gray thread;
- Hook No. 1.75;
- The blank is a foam ball with a diameter of 5 cm;
- Moment glue or glue gun;
- Rhinestones or beads for decoration;
- Satin ribbon, width - 0.5 cm;
- Fine lace in vanilla color;
- Scissors, tweezers, lighter.
First, you need to crochet the ball with a single crochet:
1st row – 3 air loops; further in a spiral, the 2nd row is an increase in each loop, then two rows are an increase through a loop, the next 2 rows are through 2 loops. Slightly short of the middle of the ball, there are 3 increases in each row. When the diameter of the “coat” is equal to the diameter of the ball, knit several rows without increments and place the ball there. Then decrease the loops in a similar manner until the end. The number of rows and loops depends on the yarn and knitting density, in this example there were 18 rows, “baby yarn” 50 g/200 m was used.
Before tightening the top, you need to secure the tape to it. First, lightly pierce the foam with a needle, place a knot of tape folded into a loop there using tweezers. Tighten the end of the knitting well so that the yarn does not unravel and the ribbon does not jump out.
Carefully glue lace along the “equator” of the ball, which will match the color of this product. You can decorate the ball with ribbon bows, beads and rhinestones to match.
This New Year's ball turns out to be light and, most importantly, unbreakable, and the rhinestones shimmer brightly in the light.
