Ferromagnetic fluid - a liquid that is highly polarized in the presence of a magnetic field. In other words, when an ordinary magnet approaches this liquid, it begins to perform certain movements: it jumps up like a hedgehog, sticks to the magnet, and rises with a hump.

This ferromagnetic liquid is quite easy to make with your own hands at home.
To do this, we need oil (motor or sunflower or other) and toner (powder) for a laser printer.

All these two ingredients need to be mixed by eye until the consistency of sour cream.
For the best effect, you can heat it in a water bath, stirring, for 20-30 minutes.
But keep in mind - not every printer toner is good for magnetism. Accordingly, you need to take the best one.

All! Simple - isn't it?

I tried to reproduce it. I bought Master toner for Samsung ML-1210/ML-1250/ML-4500, 85g bottles of powder - 45 rubles. Nothing succeeded.
Well, then I found out that printers use so-called “developers” for printing - these are crushed magnetic powders. Powder particles are balls coated with something else. It would be interesting to know the radius of these balls. So, the developer is a magnetic powder added to the toner; it is not needed for all types of printers, but in many. It is sold separately and is magnetic. The toner itself does not have magnetic properties. Some toners may be sold as a mixture of toner powder and developer powder. But, I think that in any case, the best solution would be to buy a toner developer. I found the cheapest 500 rub.
