Dried fruits in stores are now very expensive, and this is an excellent alternative to replace a store-bought product.
Cooking time: two hours

Ingredients:
  • Six oranges;
  • Two glasses of sugar;
  • Juice of half an orange or lemon.


Preparing the recipe
First you need to prepare all the necessary products. You will need six oranges. Fruits should be washed thoroughly under hot water and rubbed with a brush. Next, the orange is peeled; to do this, a cross-shaped cut is made on top of the fruit, from top to bottom, and the peel is removed.

Next, the peel is placed in water. It is advisable to soak the orange skin for two days, but you don’t have to soak it if you use the method below. Soak to remove excess bitterness.If you decide to soak, then in this case the water is changed at least twice.

If you don't soak it. Place the peel covered with water on the fire and let it boil. As soon as it boils, remove from heat and drain the water and add new water. We repeat the procedure 3 times. Each procedure takes twenty minutes.

Next, wash the orange peel under cool water and cut into oblong strips.

Prepare the syrup. To do this, pour sugar and one cup of water into a saucepan. Dissolve and then drop the prepared skins into it. Cook for one and a half hours. Stir constantly. Cook until almost all the syrup has boiled down. At the end, add half the orange juice to the syrup. Then drain the remaining syrup through a colander and spread the candied fruits on food paper, let them dry for 24 hours, or you can dry them on a radiator.
