We sew a sleep mask with our own hands

First of all, you need to make a mask pattern from cardboard. It should be 20 cm long and 10 cm wide.
There is no need to give seam allowances to the pattern, since the mask will be edged with tape.
An incision will be made approximately 3.5 cm from one edge on the underside of the mask. It is needed so that, if necessary, the sachet with dried flowers can be taken out and the mask can be washed.
According to the pattern, you should cut out the front part of the mask (solid), the back part of the mask (split, with an allowance of 1.5 cm for processing the cut), as well as 2 parts from the adhesive gasket.

The front and back parts of the mask must be glued using an ironing iron. Allowances for processing the cut on the wrong side should be ironed by 1.5 cm.

Allowances for processing the cut must be tucked and stitched.

The front and back parts of the mask should be sewn together along the edge. At the same time, they should “look” at each other with wrong sides.

Then you need to pin the elastic band to the mask. Its length is determined individually experimentally.

After this, you need to sew bias tape on the wrong side of the mask.

Next, the bias tape should be turned onto the front side of the mask and stitched at a distance of 1 mm from the ironed fold.
If necessary, the mask can be carefully ironed from the wrong side through an ironing iron.

From white calico you need to cut out a sachet for dried flowers - a rectangle with dimensions of 13*17 cm. One cross section of the part must be ironed 1 cm towards the wrong side.

Then the sachet needs to be folded in half lengthwise and stitched along one long and one short side.

Using a spoon, fill the sachet with dried lavender flowers.

The filled bag should be stitched on a typewriter. Dried flowers should be spread evenly throughout the sachet with your fingers.

Now the lavender sachet can be inserted into the mask.

Nowadays, the problem with sleep is very acute. There can be a thousand stress factors, and lack of sleep aggravates an already sluggish state. These masks help you relax at the end of the working day and just go to sleep. By the way, they are relevant in the far north, on a polar day, when the sun blinds the eyes day and night. I made a couple for myself and don’t regret it one bit. My sleep has become like that of a baby and I can get enough sleep in just a couple of hours. I recommend!

They always give you a mask like this on the plane and it helps a lot. Unfortunately, I lost all my masks. And this is where this article comes in handy. I’ll make a new one, and a complicated one at that! I advise everyone!
