What you will need:
- dry baker's yeast;
- semolina;
- powdered sugar;
- insecticide against ants (if desired).
The process of preparing the product and treating the area
To prepare a killer bait for ants, you need to mix 4 components: yeast, semolina, powdered sugar and insecticide. All components are added in approximately the same volume. The insecticide can be omitted or added in smaller quantities than other components.
Each of the components has its own effect. Yeast eaten by an ant begins to actively release carbon dioxide in its digestive system, which is fatal to the insect. Semolina swells when it enters the stomach, which also kills.Powdered sugar acts as a sweet bait, increasing the ants' interest in the mixture. The insecticide acts as an additional guarantee of pest destruction.
The mixture is scattered in the area, preferably under anthills, in small portions of about a teaspoon. The ants will not only eat her themselves, but will also feed their queen, which, if she is lost, is guaranteed to lead to the extinction of the anthill.
This treatment is done several times a season to prevent the proliferation of ants. The second and further applications of the mixture are done without insecticide.
