The most common problem with washing machines is leakage through the powder tray. Drops of water run straight down the dashboard. They can also get on the shock absorbers hidden inside, causing them to rust and the machine to start jumping during the spin cycle. The problem with a leaking tray is unpleasant, but easy to fix, and at home.

- lemon acid;
- silicone sealant.
The process of repairing a leaking powder tray
To carry out repairs, you need to turn off the water supply to the machine and disconnect it from the power supply. Then, using a Phillips screwdriver, you need to unscrew the rear screws holding its top cover and remove it. Next, remove the powder receiver tray by moving it towards you.
Removing the tray and cover will reveal the screws holding the dashboard in place.
They also unscrew and the panel is removed. The wires connected to it do not need to be disconnected. You only need to open access to dismantle the powder receiver container.
Next, you need to disconnect the tubes connected to the powder receiver, having first loosened their clamps. After unscrewing the screws, the powder receptacle is removed.
By moving the latches, you need to disconnect the lid of the powder receptacle container. Inside it you can see scale and dried lumps of powder. This is what causes the leak. The layers change the direction of water flowing through the holes of the powder receiver, causing it to splash out to the sides outside the tray and flow down the machine onto the floor.
It is necessary to wash the body of the powder receiver from scale. To do this, it is immersed in a hot aqueous solution of citric acid.
It will dissolve the deposits, and the parts will become like new in a few hours. You can use vinegar or hydrochloric acid. They do not harm the plastic of the powder receptacle, but citric acid is best as it is odorless, although it lasts a little longer.
As soon as the scale falls off, you can wash the parts with a brush and, after drying, put the powder container back together. To be on the safe side, you need to coat the joint between the lid and the container with silicone to prevent water from seeping through the micro-cracks.
Immediately after the halves of the container snap into place, it is important to insert the exit tray into it so that it moves along its slide to remove the protruding silicone. Next, the tray is removed and wiped if the sealant is stuck to it.
After this, the machine is assembled in the reverse order. The silicone will completely harden after a day, but after a couple of hours it will hold tight enough to start washing.
