To prevent pulsating air supply from the compressor, a receiver must be installed between it and the airbrush. With it, the paint will be sprayed evenly, in addition, the engine will be able to work with long pauses, and not hum continuously.
What you will need:
- empty gas canisters for mini burners or aerosols – 4 pcs.;
- hose;
- clamps – 11 pcs.;
- internal tee 1/8 inch;
- fitting for the hose to the tee;
- aluminum blank;
- fittings with external thread for hose – 5 pcs.
The process of manufacturing and connecting the receiver
The gearbox and filter are unscrewed from the compressor.
Then they are installed back, but through a tee. All connections are sealed with fume tape. A hose fitting is screwed onto the lower outlet of the tee.
Next, you need to drill out 4 gas cylinders, pull a piece of hose onto them and tighten everything with clamps. You can use more cans, it will be even better.
To combine the cylinders together, you need to make a collector. An aluminum billet is used for this. It needs to be sanded flat on one side, then drilled through and through.
On the polished sidewall, 3 transverse holes are made to the central longitudinal one. All holes are threaded.
Then the hose fittings are screwed into them onto the fume tape.
The manifold is connected through a hose to a fitting on the tee. The cylinders are placed in a box made of plywood and slats. Then the compressor is screwed on top, and the hoses from the cylinders are attached to the manifold.
After upgrading the compressor, the airbrush will work 100 times better, and painting with it will be a pleasure.
