I’ll tell you a secret and tell you how to avoid unnecessary expenses and sharpen your knives yourself.
1. I take an ordinary ceramic mug or plate.
2. I tilt the knife at an angle of approximately 45%, and, carefully, without pressing hard on the knife, I draw the blade along the entire length against the edge of the mug.
3.Sharpening actions should be directed in one direction, from the base of the handle to the edge of the blade.
4. There is no need to move the knife back and forth across the mug or plate.
5. 5-6 movements and your knife is sharpened.
Bottom line
Professional grinders and sharpening tools for ceramic knives are undoubtedly worthy of attention. But, I'll be honest with you. I didn’t notice any difference between sharpening on a mug and grinding stone.
