Many gardeners and gardeners pick seedlings into glasses. When planting, the plants are removed from them along with a cylindrical lump of earth, which is very convenient to plant in holes of the same shape. To do this, special hand planters are sold. They are convenient, but if you need to plant hundreds of plants, then such a tool causes fatigue and pain in your hand. If this sounds familiar to you, then make yourself a planter of this design.
Materials:
- Sheet steel 2 mm;
- steel pipe 60 mm;
- rod 10 mm;
- M12 nuts – 2 pcs.
- compression springs 300 mm – 2 pcs.
Planter manufacturing process
A disk with a diameter of 170 mm is cut from sheet steel.
A hole is drilled in its center with a 60 mm crown.
Then you need to prepare a piece of pipe with a diameter of 60 mm and a length of 170 mm.
It has a cutout as in the photo. The transverse cut can be made with a core drill, the rest is trimmed with a grinder.
2 pieces of rod 320 mm long are welded to the previously made washer at right angles.
2 handles for the planter are welded from the same material.
Their height should be comfortable for the user. It is enough for them to reach the waist.M12 nuts are welded to the handles 25 cm from the edge.
The handles need to be welded to the previously prepared tube. Then you should put the springs on the disk struts.
The nuts on the handles are put on top of the racks. After this, it is necessary to weld washers onto the ends of the rods, but in order to maintain the possibility of the upper part moving down along the guides.
The result is a planter, when pressed the tube cuts an even cylindrical hole with a diameter of 60 mm in the ground.
You can work with this tool for a long time without having to bend over. You can make the required number of holes, then fill them with water, and then plant seedlings from glasses in them.
