Often, a long radiator with a side connection heats only half. The sections distant from the supply line remain cold, since the coolant does not circulate in them. This problem is usually solved by connecting the battery diagonally, but there is a simpler, cheaper and faster solution that does not require reworking the entire system. It is enough to install a flow extender on the return line. It is a tube that fits directly into the horizontal radiator channel. Through it, the coolant will be supplied to the return line exclusively from the last section, so before that it will be able to pass through the entire battery, ensuring its uniform heating.
Materials:
- Heating radiator 3/4 inch;
- adapter collet/fitting 16x1/2 inches external thread;
- metal-plastic pipe 16 mm;
- futorka 1/2 inch internal thread - 3/4 inch external thread;
- linen or fulenta.
Flow extender manufacturing process
To assemble the flow extension, you need to screw a fitting with a 1/2-inch thread transition into the large radiator fitting from the outside.
On the other inner side, an adapter for a 16 mm collet is wrapped. All this needs to be compacted with flax or fumlenta.
Next, you need to install a metal-plastic pipe on the adapter. To do this, unscrew the nut from it and remove the ring. They need to be placed on the pipe, and then its edge should be flared. It is then attached to the adapter.
After this, you need to attach the pipe to the radiator and mark the place where it reaches the last section, but does not yet rest against the plug. After this, the pipe is shortened.
Now we screw the flow extension into the battery to the return line.
An American woman is already joining him. Since the result is a displacement of the threads, a fitting with a thread transition of 1/2 inch is also installed in the supply radiator fitting to achieve symmetry. Then the modified battery can be connected to the system with the standard American ones that were previously available.
