You can make many excellent tools and various devices with your own hands in just 5-10 minutes. Sometimes such homemade products then serve faithfully for decades. This collection contains 7 useful ideas from old masters that you will want to repeat when the need arises.

1. File chisel

An old worn flat file can be sharpened into a chisel. Since it was initially made of very hard steel, the new homemade tool has excellent cutting properties. To remake, you will need to cut the file in half.

Its part with the shank is sharpened on one side. Then all that remains is to attach the handle.

2. Soldering nozzle for plastic for a gas torch

To make the nozzle, you will need a pipe with a slightly larger diameter than your gas burner. A workpiece 40-50 mm long is cut from it, drilled in the center. An M6 thread is cut into the existing hole.

A bracket bent from a rod with a diameter of 4-6 mm is welded to the tube.

Next, the nozzle is put on the burner and secured with a screw.

Now we light the flame and heat it until red hot. Then we turn off the heat and solder the plastic with a hot bracket.

3. Scribbler from a dead drill bit for concrete

If you have a damaged concrete drill left, its edge can be ground down to a point. The resulting scribe easily scratches the steel, leaving visible deep marks.

4. How to bend a PP pipe without bending

A polypropylene pipe can be bent at any angle if you first insert a spring with tight coils into it at the bend. With it, you can safely heat the plastic around the circumference with a hairdryer, and then bend it.

A pipe with a spring inside will definitely not flatten.

5. The simplest tip for soldering on a torch

To turn a portable gas torch into a soldering iron, you will need a regular paper clip binder. One of his arms is removed, and the antennae are cut off. The bracket is then inserted into the burner hole.

Next, light the burner, heat the nozzle until red-hot, and then turn off the fire. After that, solder while the tip is hot. This attachment is best suited for repairing plastic.

6. Tricky latch

We take a large washer and bend it in half around a rod with a cross section of 4-5 mm. We thread a plastic tie through the resulting eyes and tighten it.

The result is a retainer that allows you to securely place a strip with a large hole on the head of a screw or nail. The tie on the latch presses the strip, so it cannot be removed without permission, although its hole is larger than the cap.

7. Grover clamp

If you need to fit the hose tightly onto a fitting sharpened to a cone, you can use a grower instead of a clamp. We put it on the tube, after which we pull the latter onto the fitting.

First, we pull the hose until it stops, then we grab it with pliers in front of the grower. Now, by hitting them with a hammer, we achieve final compression on the fitting.
