Recently, home interior design in the Provence style has become popular. White furniture slightly touched by artificial antiquity, it will add a special mood to the decoration of your home. Such furniture can appear in your home, and you don’t have to spend a lot of money on purchasing new ones, just carefully examine what you already have at hand.
So, the starting material is an old Soviet chestnut-colored bedside table, from which you need to make a coffee table (you can also use a trellis, wardrobe, sideboard, etc.). Let's disassemble it piece by piece in order to understand which parts are suitable for use.

You can use your imagination to choose the desired design for a future product (coffee table), but it’s more convenient to open the Internet and find photos of interesting models of modern furniture.
Once you have decided on the final final version, we proceed to the pattern. To do this, we cut out patterns for future table parts from available materials (cardboard, paper), all sizes at your discretion (sizes are not limited) depending on the desired result and the size of the source material.

In the example, the side walls of an old bedside table were used as connecting parts (legs) between the tabletop and the bottom of the bedside table.
Using a wood jigsaw (electric, manual), we apply the previously prepared patterns and cut out our parts (curly, straight, angular). We also cut off the corners of the tabletop and the bottom of the bedside table to give our product a rounded shape.
Having prepared all the necessary parts, we begin cleaning. This is one of the important points in the work, since the quality of the final product depends on the thoroughness of cleaning. We clean each part with emery abrasive.

If it has been painted, you will need to sand it down to the wood. If it doesn’t work out, then at least remove as much of the top layer of paintwork as possible with sandpaper. If you are lucky and the area of the part is clean, then you need to sand it with 150 grit sandpaper. Then pay attention to the holes remaining in the parts (from fastening screws and bolts), which must be covered with wood putty.

It is imperative to give the putty used to cover holes, chips and unevenness time to dry. Drying time is one day.

When assembling parts, you can use the following as fasteners:
1) metal corners with self-tapping screws;
2) wooden choppers or dowels.

After preparing the parts, you can start painting. The first stage of painting consists of applying primer in two layers, while following all technical recommendations of the material with which you will work. The second stage is intermediate grinding with an abrasive sponge of 240 grit. The third and final stage, applying varnish (enamel) in one layer, which is the finishing layer.

Also, you can use combinations of different paint colors as in this example, mixing it yourself to the desired shade or buying ready-made paint.
The edges of the product must be covered with furniture finishing tape using an iron or painted over.

To add luxury, you can draw an ornament on the tabletop by first sketching it in pencil.
