Weeds in a flower bed, beds or lawn spoil the appearance and interfere with the development of cultivated plants. Pulling them out with your hands is difficult and takes a long time. By making a simple tool for removing weeds, the work can be made much faster and easier.
Will need
You should prepare:- A piece of reinforcement;
- round the pipe;
- long hairpin;
- nut – 2 pcs.;
- washer – 3 pcs.;
- compression spring;
- paint, etc.
Manufacturing process of weed removal tool
We mark the reinforcement, cut off three pieces of equal length diagonally and sharpen the beveled ends with a grinder.
We clamp the assembly of two short coaxial tubes in a vice and weld the pointed reinforcement along the generatrix of the tubes at 120 degrees, aligning the blunt ends with their ends.
We weld one end of two equal-length tubes with steel plates and smooth out the corners with a grinder.
At the other ends we make transverse semicircular notches.
We attach them with notches to a long pipe of the same diameter at the level of its end on both sides and weld it.
We put a “trident” on the other end of the long pipe and connect them by welding.
Screw a nut onto one end of the stud, place a washer and weld it to the stud.
We insert the free end of the pin into the long pipe from the “trident” side until the washer stops at its base.
On the other end of the stud we put a washer, a compression spring, a second washer and screw on the nut. When the nut is pressed, the spring is compressed, and the washer at the other end of the stud moves inside the pointed fittings.
We weld a 15 cm long pipe transversely above the “trident”, paint the tool and after the paint has dried, it is ready for use.
To do this, we plunge the “trident” into the weed, pressing the transverse lower pipe with our foot. Then we rotate the tool in any direction and pull it out along with the weed.
To get rid of the weed, we press on the upper washer and then the lower one, moving, throws off the plant, and the tool is again ready for work.
