In various situations, it becomes necessary to withdraw large amounts of water from reservoirs. This can be done very quickly if you use a battery-powered submersible pump. It is not difficult to assemble such a pump with your own hands. You can use it to pump water, for example, for irrigation, or to wash your car.

Materials:

  • PVC pipes for gluing 20, 25, 50, 63 mm;
  • adhesive plugs for pipes 63 mm, 50 mm, 40 mm;
  • coupling 50 mm with external thread;
  • coupling 63 mm with internal thread;
  • electric motor 12V -
  • oil seal for the pumping station under the electric motor shaft.

Pump manufacturing process

The most difficult and painstaking part is making the impeller. To do this, you need to make markings on the bottoms of the plug for a 50 mm pipe. It is divided into 8 sectors, along which arcs under the blades are drawn with a compass.

The bottom needs to be cut out and the edges sharpened. The segments are glued according to the markings. The latter are cut out from a piece of pipe 63 mm long and 10 mm long.

The plug for the 40 mm pipe needs to be drilled to mount the electric motor. One hole is made in the center for its shaft, and 2 for the mounting screws.

The plug is then glued inside the coupling.

The engine must be installed in the resulting housing, having previously lubricated the joints with glue to seal the junction.

It is necessary to install an oil seal for the pumping station on its shaft in order to accurately prevent leakage. To do this, glue a PVC washer and a ring from a thin tube onto the glued plug. The seal should fit tightly into them.

Then the impeller is installed on top and pressed.

In the 63 mm coupling, it is necessary to drill a side hole at an angle and glue a 20 mm tube into it, from which water will subsequently flow out.

The coupling must be sealed on the adhesive side. To do this, glue in a piece of pipe with a plug, in which perforations are made to suck in water. This design will prevent the impeller from picking up debris.

The couplings are twisted. On the engine side, you also need to glue in a piece of pipe with a plug, but pre-drill it to insert the wire to the engine contacts. The hole around the wire must be well taped.

The pump is immersed in water. Since the impeller is protected from debris, it can even be lowered into a pond. This pump runs on a regular car battery.
