The process of making a hydroelectric power station with your own hands
A DC motor can be used as a generator for a hydroelectric power station without modifications.
To unwind it, you will need to assemble the impeller and connect it to the motor shaft with a chain drive.
A bicycle wheel is used to make the impeller.
A large sprocket is installed on it. To do this, you will have to cut an adapter from sheet steel.
It can be attached to the wheel hub, and the sprocket will be screwed to it.
Then you need to work on the engine. To do this, an adapter for its shaft is selected.A small sprocket is welded to the adapter.
At the next stage, the blades are made. A plastic pipe is used for this.
It must be cut into rings 200 mm wide, and the pieces must be cut in half. The wheel rim and blades are drilled and bolted together.
You can install 18 of these blades on a standard adult bicycle wheel.
A fork is bent out of the pipe to attach the impeller. Its edges are compressed into a plane with a vice, then drilled. This allows you to clamp the impeller axis on them.
A plate is welded onto the fork to mount the motor. The latter is screwed to it with a bracket made of a bent strip. A chain is stretched between the impeller and motor sprockets.

To do this, 3 pieces of pipe are welded perpendicular to the fork. One falls apart at its bend, and the rest along the edges. For better stability, you will need to weld them onto extension rods. Nuts are welded into the fasteners in order to tighten the pins or bolts into them.
Thus, you can insert round timber legs into the mounts, and by clamping them in a certain position, adjust the height of the hydroelectric station, depending on the depth of the stream. As a result, the station turns out to be mobile and universal. It can be quickly removed if necessary.
The current produced by a hydroelectric power station directly depends on the engine parameters and flow speed. To be able to power anything other than LED lights or water heaters from it, you will need a voltage converter. It can be used to recharge batteries without any problems. By connecting a 220 V inverter, you can power almost any household appliance.
