Those who like to do everything with their own hands will definitely appreciate the selection of cool ideas and life hacks that will allow them to better organize their work process and solve various difficulties during construction repairs. It includes 12 proven tips. All of them are very simple and do not require special skills when repeated.

1. Original sanding block

To make a block for sanding with sandpaper, you need to choose a board of a convenient size. Then we saw off the strip to the same length. The blanks are folded together and drilled in two places. You need to screw the bolts into the holes so that they cut their own threads.

Now we cut off the sandpaper and place its edges between the slats and the board.

After that, tighten it with bolts. That's it, the sanding block is ready. When the sandpaper wears off, it can be easily changed.

2. Restoring gloss on plastic and removing potholes

Many types of plastic that fade in the sun, causing them to become dull and whitish, can be restored by heating. It is enough to quickly go over them with a torch so that the plastic does not have time to burn.

After treatment with a torch, the plastic will be like new. Also, all potholes and scratches will be smoothed out.

3. How to unscrew a jammed broken cutting disc from an angle grinder

If during operation of the grinder the cutting disc falls into pieces, its remainder is so pressed by the nut that there is not enough strength to unscrew it. In this case, break off all protruding remains of the disc.

Then pour lubricant into the holes in the key nut. Now if you wait a little until it spreads, it will be much easier to unscrew the nut.

4. Stand for paint brush

To prevent a paint brush from touching clean surfaces with its bristles, when putting it aside, you can make a stand for it. Above the pile it is tightened with a tie. The tail of the tie needs to be wrapped in a ring and the edge glued with hot glue.

Now the brush can be placed without it staining the surface. The stand also allows you to hang it on the edge of a paint can.

5. The simplest wing on a bolt

If you need a wing bolt, then take a regular one and put a large nut on it. It is necessary that its internal diameter is slightly smaller than the cross-section of the bolt head. Then it is tightened with a regular nut.

Thus, we get a convenient wing that can be rotated by hand without a wrench.

6. Storage of drill equipment

The drill attachment can be glued to the edge of the shelf using double-sided foam adhesive tape. It’s hard to think of a simpler and more convenient way to store it. It peels off easily from the tape and then sticks back on.

7. Cross fastening of drywall profile without crab connector

It is possible to connect two CD profiles crosswise at the same level without using a crab.Just on the profile that is located on top, you need to make marks on the sidewalls along the width of the bottom one.

A line is drawn in the center between the marks. The profile is dissected along it and cut along the ribs to the side marks. After this, the cut plates are bent outward at a right angle.

Now you can connect the profiles crosswise and fasten them through the plates with self-tapping screws, blind rivets or a cutter. It takes a little longer than using a connector, but you can save on purchasing it.

8. A convenient way to clean brushes when painting

To remove excess paint from your brush, you can place several strips of tape directly on top of the bucket or can. Thus, it is convenient to brush off the paint on them, which will immediately flow back.

The jar or bucket itself will remain clean after work without any leaks on the outside.

9. Original storage of a set of drills

A set of drills in a box can be stored in an unusual way. To do this, remove the belt hook from the tape measure and screw it onto the box.

This will allow you to quickly attach it to vertical surfaces, for example, directly at the place of work.

10. An emergency way to mount a phone in a car without a car holder

It happens that on the road you need to use a navigator, but there is no way to secure the phone in front of the driver’s eyes, since there is no car holder. Then it can be fixed with a strip of tape.

In the center it is glued to the phone screen, its top to the windshield, and its bottom to the front panel.

11. Original furniture handle made from a nut

To make a handle for a cabinet or drawer, you can drill a large nut into the side and install a couple of rivets into it so that their legs do not come off.

Then we drill through the furniture façade for the legs of the rivets.

We insert them into the holes and bend them on the back. That's it, the unusual pen is ready.

12. Crimp the lug on the cable without crimping pliers

If you need to secure a cable lug, then you can choose a nut that is slightly smaller in internal diameter than it. Cut it in half.

Now we put the tip on the cable core. Then we compress it in a vice, having previously inserted nuts between the halves.

Their thread will press the walls of the tip into the core, ensuring excellent contact.
