The process of eliminating squeaks
To eliminate the squeak, you need to leave the wipers in a vertical position. To do this, turn on the ignition and start them. As soon as they become vertical, turn off the ignition.
Then from the street you need to inspect the position of the wiper blade. First we pull out the windshield wipers and then put them back on. The ridge of the elastic should be perpendicular to the plane of the glass. In this case, he will be able to roll in one direction or another depending on the direction of movement. Ideally, during operation, the comb lags behind the wiper body by 2-4 mm. Thanks to this, silent collection of water occurs.
With squeaking wipers, the comb will immediately take a collapsed position after being pulled back.Therefore, having reached the end point, it cannot fall over, which is why it moves along the glass with resistance, causing a creak.
If you find a blockage, then you need to bend the leash to compensate for this. To do this, grab it at the attachment point with pliers through a rag and bend it. We ensure that after pulling the wiper, the ridge of the rubber is applied to the glass perpendicularly.
If after this the squeak persists, then you should turn the wiper the other way around. If it does not provide for this, then remove the elastic band and turn it over. After this, the windshield wipers will operate quietly.
